The cornbread you made looks so good I think I'd have a hard time not just eating it on the spot, and I imagine the stuffing was delicious. Food-centric holidays are the hardest to celebrate with omnivore family members. Eventually it gets easier as everyone gets more comfortable with the wide variety of delicious vegan food that's available, and as they learn how easy it is to make food that everyone can share.Andreahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16146578985330272891noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6384189504385510521.post-20214604048532066692010-11-28T16:01:28.818-06:002010-11-28T16:01:28.818-06:00Sounds like your first vegan Thanksgiving went wel...Sounds like your first vegan Thanksgiving went well. This is a tough holiday since it revolves around food, and not the healthiest variety at that.

The weekend got away from me as well. I didn't have the computer on hardly at all since Wednesday. Life needs to come first. ;-)

enjoy what little is left of your weekend,
AliVegan Epicureanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08203676819322299569noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6384189504385510521.post-44251642120770302482010-11-28T09:52:27.542-06:002010-11-28T09:52:27.542-06:00Oh, I'm so glad you brought dishes that you re...Oh, I'm so glad you brought dishes that you really love! See, some of those curious relatives will just keep "tasting" your dishes over the years, until they're finally brave enough to bring a dish to accomodate you, and then voila! - you'll suddenly have several dishes to choose from! Hopefully? Yes!blessedmamahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09281648597707759434noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6384189504385510521.post-14977962792146919012010-11-28T09:04:44.229-06:002010-11-28T09:04:44.229-06:00I agree with dirtyduck and am curious as to how ev...I agree with dirtyduck and am curious as to how everything went for you. I know that I have had some bad experiences with that kinda situation. My dad is totally supportive but my mom (theyre divorced) and her family did nothing but mock me for becoming a vegetarian and even more so a vegan. I used to celebrate Thanksgiving with her years ago and she would always lie to me about what had meat in it or not. She even gave me food cooked with chicken broth then lied to me about it when I tasted the chicken! To top that off when Johann and I moved to France and we had a get together with that side of the family, there was not a single thing I could eat! It was around my birthday and the cake wasnt even vegan. I was told just to deal with it and eat it. Nice huh? (I dont talk to her anymore for many reasons, so thats not really my problem anymore) But, thats why I was so excited to host my own vegan Thanksgiving. Too bad you live so far away because I would have loved to have you over to enjoy the meal! :)jess_fildespageshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08476211010825624165noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6384189504385510521.post-31266256394236602892010-11-28T09:03:46.434-06:002010-11-28T09:03:46.434-06:00I know what u mean...I thought it was going to be ...I know what u mean...I thought it was going to be so easy to blog every night on vacation and keep up with everyone else, as well...not so.
