MANGO BANANA SMOOTHIE

I went grocery shopping yesterday and noticed that Kroger had mangos 2 for $1. I have never eaten, much less bought a mango, so I decided it was time. I peeled one last night and ate a few bites....YUM...was it ever so good! A few bites was all I wanted at the time though. I decided to put the rest in the refrigerator and make a smoothie with it for my breakfast. I wasn't sure what all to put in my smoothie, since I have never used mangos before. I was so afraid it was going to turn out horrible. My concoction turned out great though. My smoothie this morning was very refreshing and filling. Here's what I used.

1 mango
1 frozen banana (sliced)
a dash of cinnamon
1 cup or a little more of orange juice.

I threw all that in a blender and WOW....it was good! I was surprised at how great it tasted. I will be making more of these in the future, that's for sure. I didn't really measure the orange juice, so if the smoothie is too thick and isn't blending well, just add a little more juice.

~Peace~

  1. Mangos are delicious! I hate cutting them because the pit is a pain, but I do love eating them.

  2. try diced mangos with diced red and yellow peppers and thinly sliced green onions tossed together with a little chopped fresh pineapple and just a little pineapple juice for an amazing mango salsa to go with your black bean burger. if you like cilantro you can add a little of that too.
