Falafel / Falafel Wrap

Last night for dinner I made falafel. I've really been craving it lately with so many people talking about and making it. I used my previous falafel recipe from a while back, but made two changes. The last time I used basil, but this time I used fresh cilantro. I also left out the step where you put them in the oven after frying them on the stove. They turned out just as tasty as before. The mixture was a little greener this time from the fresh cilantro, but the taste was awesome!

Tony has been wanting a baked potato, so I cooked a couple of potatoes and fried some yellow squash, zucchini and onions to go along with our meal. I topped my falafel off with an easy to make tahini dressing. No, Tony wouldn't try it...maybe some day? He had pork loin to go along with his veggies.

I thought I would try a falafel wrap for lunch. I was a little unsure about it, but as usual I was up for trying something different. As you know, I am really trying hard to like raw veggies. So, I took a wheat tortilla and spread my tahini dressing on it, added my falafel, and then some raw veggies. The veggies consisted of, red and yellow bell peppers, cucumbers, and spinach. I also added a little cilantro to my wrap, but ended up taking it off. I wasn't too crazy about eating it like that! I do believe that a falafel wrap will be on my lunch menu again tomorrow! :o)

  3. Oh, I have been seeing a resurgence of falafel. I need to try some new recipes at home, too. Honestly, I've only ever made it from a box or had it at a restaurant. I think cilantro would be much better than basil!

  4. Glad you enjoyed your falafel. My friend from Egypt (a falafel snob) says they aren't authentic unless they have a green tint inside. ;-)
