Veggie Hot Dog.....

Happy Friday everyone!! First off for today I want to say a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my very loving husband! I won’t be cooking tonight, because we are going out to eat with family to celebrate this wonderful day! :o)

Second thing I want to say today is, thank you so much blessedmama for the Happy 101 Award. This is my first award to ever receive, so I’m a little unsure as to how it works. Actually I didn’t know there were awards until a couple of days ago. I think I am supposed to list 10 things that make me happy and then 10 blogs that make me happy. This is going to be hard, as making any type of list like this does not come easy for me. I have to put a lot of thought into it. :o)

Here we go…10 things that make me happy. These are in no particular order. Spending quality time with my husband, like last night. We went star gazing… watching for the meteors. We saw several small ones and one HUGE one. It was awesome! Blogging…that may sound crazy, but I love reading everyone’s blog and I enjoy writing my own…it just makes me happy! :o) Coming home to a freshly cleaned house. My pug, Maggie…she is the best dog ever!!!! Nuthin like pug luvin!! The smell of laundry drying when I’m outside. Riding the motorcycle with my husband, however it is way to HOT right now to enjoy it! Watching the food network channel on Saturday mornings. I love trying to figure out if I can veganize some of the meals or not. The beach…something about the ocean and the sand between the toes that just makes me happy. Chillin and watchin movies on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon with my hubby and dog. Last, but not least, seeing other people happy, laughing and having fun.

The 10 blogs that make me happy...well, do I really have to only say 10? I mean I love them all! I get something valuable from each and every blog I read. I just can't do it. You guys make me laugh and lift me up every day. I think I need to be saying "Hello, my name is Michelle and I am a blogaholic" :o) I had much rather read what you guys have to say than actually blog. You guys are a lot of fun, and I am learning alot from you. And, I really cherish all your comments! I send hugs to all of you!!!

Wednesday I had to go to Wal-Mart to pick up a few trip items, while I was in there I picked up a few groceries. I was checking out the produce and came across these babies. Do you know how excited I got? I found the veggie hot dogs that I have so been wanting to try in Wal-Mart....of all places. I saw the soyrizo also and thought that sounded like it might be worth trying. Kroger doesn't carry this but Wal-Mart does...that's just crazy, but I'm sure not going to complain!

So...last night for supper, guess what I had. That's right, a veggie dog! I know it doesn't look all elaborate or anything, but it sure tasted good! I had some seasoned fries and hush puppies to go with it. You may be wondering about the hush puppies...thinking that's an odd side dish to go with a hot dog. Well, my husband loves fish. A man I work with gave him some crappie for his birthday, so he fried that up for his supper last night...hence the hush puppies. :o)

I guess this wraps it up for tonight. I will be on vacation next week, but as time permits I plan on blogging a little. Hopefully I will have some cool vegan eats and finds to post about. I will for sure be reading your blogs though! Hope everyone has a great weekend!
~Peace~

  1. Not to rain on your parade, but Walmart charges an arm & a leg for their faux meats. You don't have a Whole Foods or Trader Joe's near you?

  2. Happy Birthday to your husband! And congrats on your award!

I love Yves products and I find them all over the place here in Quebec. Johann goes crazy for them. :)

But can I please, please, please have your recipe for those hush puppies?! I haven't eaten them in years and now my stomach is gurggeling!!!!

  6. Hope you're having fun on vacay! I always gain one pound on vacation, no lie. Your blog makes us happy, too! Funny - those are THE EXACT only two soy/vegan products my Wal-Mart sells, too. You need to post a pic of you and hubby on the motorcyle sometime! I'm afraid of motorcyles so I can live vicariously!

  8. I hope you are enjoying your vacation! I like to try those various faux meats, so it's nice that you found a local place that sells them.

One of my happy things is laughing and having fun with other people, too. I don't think I new your pug was named Maggie; my favorite dog was Maggie, we had her from the time I was about 14 and she was so smart and loving.
