I was out of town over the weekend doing doing some hiking at Nathan Bedford Forrest State Park. We stayed in a 1850's log cabin that was so cool, actually the coolest place I have ever stayed. I think this past weekend was the best ever! I will post a few pictures of our trip tomorrow. Anyway, I was craving fruit this morning, since I didn't have any over the weekend. So I thought that a smoothie would be appropriate to curb that fruit craving.. It was really too cold for a smoothie, but what do you do when your body is screaming for it!
Here's how I ended up making my smoothie.
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
4 frozen strawberries
1 frozen banana
3 tablespoons of wheat germ
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon maple syrup
3/4- 1 cup of soy milk
Put all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth and creamy. :o) You may add a little extra or use a little less milk than called for.... it all depends on how thick you like your smoothies. I like mine thick like a milk shake.
~Peace~
Ha, good for you for posting after a rushed weekend. Sounds like a fun time hiking - great new photo! I usually want fruit after traveling, too.
ReplyDeleteI love your new photo, too. Have fun MoFoing. And I like my smoothies as thick as possible, too.
ReplyDeleteLove the color of that smoothie, soo purple! Sounds really good.
ReplyDeleteHappy Mofo-ing...don't stress on the everyday thing...the guidelines technically say that there are no strict rules on how often to post, but to aim for 20 posts in the month...even that is going to be a stretch for me.
Cute pic of your hiking weekend in the corner.
Too funny that you were craving a smoothie because I came home from hiking NEEDING produce myself. When I eat things like raw granola, fruit and nut butter all I want is fresh veggies. I still can't believe how much my taste buds have changed. Who craves produce?
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your hiking pics. I am going to try to get ours up tomorrow or Wednesday.
have a good evening,
Ali
Pretty colored smoothie.
ReplyDeleteThat smoothie sounds awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteThat log cabin sounds so cool! I like my smoothies really thick, too. Yours looks so yummy!
ReplyDeleteYou're so lucky to have stayed in the cabin. It sounds wonderful, and I'm looking forward to your photos.
ReplyDeleteThe mofo guideline I follow said to aim for posting each weekday. I take the weekends off! As Rose pointed out, that's about five posts per week, but nobody's counting!
Vegan mofo is daunting! Best of luck! :)
