Maggie's Socks and More

Hello...I hope you've been having a great weekend! It's been pretty here in the south! The sun is out and the temps have been around 60. First up today is Maggie. :o) Molly over at VeganFlower was super sweet and sent me the doggie socks that were too small for her babies. I got them yesterday and put them on Maggie right away. The socks were so cute! My husband even went "awe". Maggie had no idea what was going on as I was putting the socks on her though. This was of course the first time that she has ever had anything put on her feet. I took her picture sitting down which took forever to get a decent picture. Maggie just does not like for her picture to be taken. After I finally got a picture of her she got up to walk, which was so funny. The socks were freaking her out a little so she was high stepping. Sorta reminded me of a walking horse....ha She got used to them after a couple of minutes and ventured into the kitchen, which was great for her....no slipping and sliding like she usually does on the vinyl floor. The socks on her hind legs came off pretty quickly, but that's mainly because of the way Maggie walks. She wobbles and drags her hind legs alot due to her back injury. The front socks are perfect though. She started licking her front feet earlier today, so I put the socks on her and no more licking...YAY! Thanks again Molly for the socks! They are great!

Friday night we went out to eat at a Mexican restaurant that I had never been to before. It is a very small place, and I actually never thought about going there. Tony and one of his friends went about a week ago, and he raved about how good it was and that they had a vegetarian section on their menu. He said I had to try it so that's where we ended up Friday night. The name of the place is Casa Marina....very neat little place. I wish I would have had a camera so you could tell how good my supper looked. This phone picture doesn't do the food justice at all. I ordered a Tostaguac, which was a tostada with beans, guacamole, and lettuce on it. It came with rice, which had veggies cooked in it, refried beans, and a side of grilled veggies (yellow squash, zucchini, red onions, and carrots). This is now my favorite Mexican place to eat! The meal was AWESOME!

We got out Saturday and did some running around. We ended up going to Marshall's to try to find Tony some jeans. I can't go to Marshall's and not check out all the kitchen stuff. My husband spotted a mortal and pestle for $10. The funny thing about it is that this is the exact one that I had saved in my wish list at Amazon. The one at Amazon was 30 something, so I was so excited that he saw it. I can't wait to put it to use!

I didn't have time to sit down and eat breakfast this morning before church, so I threw one of my frozen pumpkin waffles in the toaster and threw a couple of Boca breakfast links in the skillet and made a waffle sandwich. This is was the first time that I have ever made a waffle sandwich and it will NOT be the last. It was so good and it was perfect to eat on the way to church. YUM!
