Low-Fat Tahini-Chickpea Dressing

Hey there!   Yesterday on facebook Happy Herbivore posted this sign, that I just love.  I need  and want this in my house!  Anyway, I liked it so much that I wanted to share it with you.  :o)

Last night I had a salad that was one of the best salads that I've made in a while. The main reason for me posting about the salad is the dressing that I used on it.  Total DELISH!  BTW...My pictures are still dark, because I still haven't replaced the light bulbs that blew....maybe I'll get to that sometime this weekend.

SusanV over at Fat Free Vegan posted a recipe for Low-Fat Tahini-Chickpea Dressing the other day, which sounded so good to me.   Her recipe can be found here.  I've been wanting to try a new and different dressing, and this one seemed to fit the bill.  It was soooo creamy.  It's nothing like I've ever had before, and that's a very good thing.  It was so good that I had to have a redo of  last nights salad for lunch today.  :o)

Saturday is Tony's birthday.  He has decided that he wants to go to Memphis to eat at The Crab Shack.  I know.... but that's his favorite place to eat, and after all....it is his birthday.  :o)  With that being said, this means that I get to go to Whole Foods.....YAY!  I have a list going of some things to get, but it seems like I always forget stuff.   So, I need your help.  What suggestions do you have as to what I should get while I'm there?   I'm trying to incorporate more raw foods into my diet as well, so suggestions with raw foods will be appreciated too.  Suggestions....please....  :o)

  2. Happy birthday, to Tony! I hope they have salads or something there for you. As for Whole Foods, it's more of how to hold onto to your wallet. There is so much to buy, so many options - have fun!

  3. I love that poster! I want one too. It's so true. We should appreciate and make the most of every moment. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Your salad looks awesome! I'll have to check out the dressing too, it does sound good.

Have fun in Memphis! Hope they have something for vegans at the Crab Shack!! HB to Tony. And, I agree with Blessed Mama; I'm sure you won't be at a loss for things to buy...I always leave with way more than I had planned to buy...and way less $$ too. :D

  4. That's very nice of Tony to let you stock up at WF on his birthday. Have fun in Memphis!

Tahini and chickpea dressing sounds like a fun twist on hummus. That is a good looking salad. I could really go for some raw broccoli while it's so fresh right now.

  5. Happy birthday Tony!! I hope that he has a wonderful day. Lucky him that it's on a Saturday!

I love that sign, too. I've been decorating more lately & have found so many amazing things like this, especially on Etsy.

I've been wanting to make a tahini dressing, so what perfect timing! Thanks so much for posting about it. It's now on my list!

I'm sorry, but I have no suggestions for you as far as Whole Foods. I have a hard enough time making the grocery list for our household. heh :)

  6. Okay, Tony's BDay is almost over. Time for him to replace the lightbulbs that burnt out. None of those supposedly eco-friendly ones!

WFs -- they're all different. If you see the Pretzel Bread, I'd recommend buying a loaf or two.
