Margarita Pizza and Yogi Teas

Happy Thursday.  Last night I wasn't feeling that great and neither was Tony, so we had a not so healthy dinner.  I had a whole wheat pizza crust left from a Margarita pizza that I  made the other night, so I made us another one last night, which was very YUMMY.  This has become our favorite pizza.  My half had Daiya mozzarella where Tony's half had the real stuff.  Our tomatoes are basically gone out of our garden, so I picked up some yellow Roma's and grape tomatoes at the farmers market Saturday morning before we went to Memphis.  I used those and some fresh basil from my garden. Tony drizzled a little olive oil over the top and then he sprinkled some garlic powder, salt and pepper on it.  You sure can't buy a pizza like this out!  It ROCKED!

Ok, this part is for the women readers.  Have you ever tried this tea.  It's mainly for PMS and that time of the month aches and pains.  I ran across this a while back and the reviews were great.  People said it really helped their cramps, so I wanted to give it a try.  I cramp very bad when it's that time of the month, so I snatched some of this tea up.  I have to admit that it really does work.  For the last two months my cramps have been barely noticeable. I drink it in the morning and in the evening to help relive the symptoms.  This is the best stuff ever.  It works where Aleve never did.  Anyway, I just wanted to share that since it has helped me so much.  :o)    Here are the ingredients:  Organic Fennel Seed, Organic Ginger Root, Organic Cinnamon Bark, Organic Chamomile Flower, Organic Raspberry Leaf, Organic Anise Seed, Dong Quai Root Extract (Lingustilides 1%), Chaste Tree Berry (Vitex angus-castus) Extract, Juniper Berry Extract, Organic Parsley Leaf.

For breakfast I had a smoothie that wasn't anything special.  It consisted of 1/2 cup almond milk, 1/2 cup water, 1 frozen banana, 1 tbs peanut butter, 1 date, a scoop of chocolate Amazing Grass, and some hemp seeds.  This is something I always drink when I'm craving chocolate, which I was doing this morning.  I had a plum and a few cashews for my mid morning snack.

For lunch I had a salad...nothing special here either.  Apparently I wasn't really in the mood for another salad, because I only ate half of it. I  replaced the other half of my salad with a Larabar.   Yes, I've been struggling with my partial raw day today.  I have a pear for an afternoon snack, so hopefully that will hold me over until I get supper cooked.

Oh...confession....Last night I ate 4 Oreos after I ate my pizza.  I know....that's defeating my whole purpose in eating partially raw.   I think tonight will be much better though....at least I hope.  :o)

  1. That is an awesome looking salad. It seems like you are trying to do the raw thing right, but I don't have much experience with that.

On the other hand, the yellow tomatoes and pizza look great! As soon as I feel like turning on the oven, I'll be ready to make pizza at home.

  2. Hey, thanks for the info on the herbal tea. I like to buy things like that, and while peruse all the different kinds, I wonder which ones really work.

Don't worry about the oreos! I mean, your body is still getting all the nutrients from the healthy foods, and oreos can't undo that.

The salad and the pizza both look delicous! I think tomatoes and basil are the best toppings for pizza...if you have those, you scarcely miss any of the other ones.

  3. You know, I've had days like that too, where I'm just not interested in what I'm eating or in whatever else is available. Those are blah food days for no particular reason. I love the pizza! We haven't had one in about a month, so I guess I should get out and rustle up some ingredients.

  4. I didn't know pizza Margarita, I guess that it isn't the Italian Margherita (tomato, mozzarella and basil)???

The tea looks great, I could do with that sometimes :-)

    Ciao

  5. All of the food looks so good, especially the pizza!

I'll have to give that tea a try. I get wicked cramps. My doctor did suggest that I try raspberry tea, which is also supposed to help, but it looks like that tea has some in it. Thanks for the review on it!

  6. What is it about 'cramps' that are so damn amusing?

  7. Jessica, I do good with raw for a few days, then it seems to get very hard. About the pizza, I've been wanting to try grilling one, but just haven't tried it yet.

Thanks Rose! I wonder the same thing with teas and was very skeptical about this one. I was very relieved to find out that it really works.

BlessedMamma, I seem to get those blah food days a lot....Thank goodness pizza is never a blah food. :o)

Allessandra...same pizza as your Italian Margherita, except I made my half with vegan cheese. It's my fav! o)

Molly, I've never had anything take the edge off my cramps like that tea. I will always have it on hand. Let me know if you try it. I hope it works for you too.

    Shen...I wish I knew. :o)
