Green Smoothie & Quick Pasta Dinner

So, I put a new twist on my smoothie this morning. I have been reading where other people are using avocados in their smoothies. I went to Sam’s the other day and saw a bag of 5 avocados. I thought to myself, I need to buy those and try adding them to my smoothies, so I grabbed a bag and threw them in my cart. For breakfast this morning I had a large glass of green smoothie. I must add, I loved the avocado in it! I am beginning to really love these green smoothies. Maybe it’s just me, but I really feel great after I drink one. Could that just be in my head? Here's what all I put in my smoothie this morning. So far this is one of my favorite green smoothies.

one large had full of spinach
½ avocado
1 ½ cups frozen fruit (I used a frozen bag blend of peaches, strawberries, pineapple, and mango)
2 tablespoons hemp seeds
1 tablespoon chia seeds
¾ to 1 cup orange juice.

Blend all the ingredients up until smooth and creamy, then drink up!

I went grocery shopping last night after work, so dinner needed to be a quick fix. It had to be quick, because I had to be in front of the TV in time to watch Big Brother. Anyway, I had a jar of Newman’s Own all natural Fire Roasted Tomato & Garlic pasta sauce in the cabinet. I grabbed the jar of pasta sauce and some whole wheat pasta and whipped up a tasty meal in no time. This was the first time that I had tried this sauce and it was delicious. Everything that I have tried of Newman’s has been great. He hasn’t let me down yet. :o))

My husband was craving potatoes last night, so he cut up some baby reds and fried them in some olive oil. I think he added some Herbamare and paprika to it. I'm not exactly sure what all he sprinkled on them, but they were delicious. I just hope HE remembers exactly what he did, because I want them again!

For dessert we had watermelon. I had to take a picture of it, because Tony used the ice cream scooper and made us some watermelon balls. I thought they were too cute. :o) Looks like sorbet doesn't it? Hmmm watermelon sorbet sounds pretty tasty. Maybe I need to try making that.

~Peace~
